Training Complete

Image
Muy buenos días a todos! I hope you all have had a great week! Today I'm wrapping up my second transfer down here in Paraguay which means my training is complete! I'm not exactly sure what that means but I guess that's pretty cool. I have now been a missionary for over 4 months. It is actually crazy how fast the time has just flown by. Especially this transfer.      But yeah this week was alright. I'll spare the details, because I don't want to talk about other missionaries, but basically we got in trouble for something that we didn't do. This made my comp really not want to work very much, and he got sick. So I spent my week dealing with that. But two absolute miracles happened this week:     One, we put a man named ever on date to be baptized here in Puente. He was a man that the missionaries had stopped teaching like 6 years ago. So we decided to visit him and just see what happens. Again, I'll spare the details, but basically he said that he had a dream....

Almost Out Of Training

Muy buenos días a todos! I hope you all had a great week this week! This week was pretty good for me.     To start off, I was sick like this entire week. Nothing crazy, just a pretty cough. That was pretty annoying but I worked through it. Nothing crazy happened this week, it was just pretty normal. We worked harder than ever before and it really paid off. We found a ton of new people to teach, including 2 complete families that we think can progress. And they all came to church which was a miracle. We had 14 investigators in church yesterday. We both thought we were dreaming or something. It's pretty amazing because the members are working so hard and helping to support everyone that we find. They are super excited that the work is progressing and always give us references. Yesterday, I got to give another talk in church. The branch president asked me like 10 min before the meeting but I think it went well.     It's starting to get ridiculously hot here. And it stil...

Lizards, Worms, And Tarantula's

Mba'eichepa ndephyhareve! Another great week down here in Paraguay! I hope you all are having a great week!     This week we were kind of stressing out a little bit because we had to stop teaching a lot of our friends because no one that we find has a lot of interest. It's been a bit of a struggle to work throughout the entire day because we don't have a lot of amigos and there's just not a lot of members to visit. But it's been really amazing to see the Lord literally giving us people. A few times this week we decided to just take a different route or change our plans, or just simply walk around for a while just because we feel the spirit. Every time that we've done that, we've found someone that wants to progress. This week we were hoping to find all their families. We've really changed up the way we work. We're contacting literally everybody that we see in the street and visiting every member possible. It seems to be working. The Lord really knows...

Mi Primer Bautismo!... And I Got Arrested

Muy buenos días a todos! Espero que todos hayan tenido una excelente semana! Because I sure did. I literally saw so many miracles this week that I think I'm dreaming     So I'll start from the beginning : The week started pretty awful. It had rained for like 4 days straight and it was flooding everywhere and I was just constantly soaking wet. And no one wanted to accept us in their houses haha. But something crazy that happened is that the mom of the girls that were going to be baptized started to talk to us. Started accepting us in her house. So we were able to finish teaching everything  and she was pretty interested too. She even offered to say some prayers in the lessons. It was an absolute miracle.      Then on Friday we had scheduled their interview for 5 o'clock in the church. So we were all sitting there waiting and they just never showed up. We waited anxiously for over 30 min. We had called them and texted them and they didn't answer. We thought t...

I'm A Brazilian Alligator Hunter. And Conferencia

Muy buenos días a todos! This week was absolutely wonderful! So I'll just jump right into it. Sorry, this one will be a bit long.     So these past 2 weeks my Spanish has improved soooo much. I can understand nearly 100% of what I hear now which is crazy because when I arrived it was literally 0%. I can talk super well now but definitely not perfectly which led to some funny things this week. First off, like three people mistook me as a Brazilian. I have no idea how, but they say that I sound like a Brazilian when I talk. At least I don't sound American haha. Next, we were at the branch president's house when I accidentally told him that I was an alligator hunter before the mission. Everyone started freaking out like "oh that's so cool" and I was so confused because I thought that I said that I like to fish. I just thought that fishing just isn't common in Paraguay. But no, I said that I hunt alligators. I'm still a little confused, but at least the br...
