Rain And Thanksgiving

Image
Hey everyone! Pretty great week this week. This week I feel super grateful for the blessings I have. Being in an area with super humble people has completely changed my perspective on my life. I don't think I'll be able to complain about anything ever again. I'm so grateful for my savior Jesus Christ, and I'm so grateful to be a part of such a great family with great circumstances. It was Thanksgiving, and we had a BBQ with our neighbors, and it started pouring. Nobody had more water here, and we're all freaking out; they were about to die, but it rained so much that all the ponds filled up. But yeah, our house flooded, and we had to run at midnight in a river of water to go sleep in the church. Define a Thanksgiving I'll never forget. The rain has continued until today. But all the rain didn't slow down the work; we still worked like crazy, and many of our friends came to work surprisingly. We had a family of 5 Paraguayans (or non-indigenous people) that ha...

Elder Renlund Pt. 2

What's up, everyone? Great week. We had the visit of Elder Renkund for my second time. It was super good. He talked a lot about covenant, and I really learned a lot. It was super great. I got to see all my past comps that are still here and say bye to my trainer because he went home. Super crazy. My comp fell off his bike and sprained his wrist the next day. So we can't use the bikes for a bit, and it's been slowing things down. But that's alright. Yesterday, after church, a dude started throwing up blood. We were able to help him, and luckily, he's okay. Work is going well. Some friends went to church and will get baptized here shortly. But yeah, that's about it. See y'all next week!! What's up, everyone! Man, was this just such a good week. We saw so many miracles this week. So for a bit of context, I'm in an indigenous community called Abundancia. But every single person here is a member. So we spend most of our time working in other communities around here. We've been having a lot of success in the neighboring community called Jope. But this last P-Day, we decided to just work in Abundancia and visit some members. As we were walking, we saw a lady struggling to carry water to her house (because no one has water, they have to fill up buckets from little pond things). We decided to go help carry her water. We arrived at her house, and her husband asked us if we had pamphlets so he could go teach his neighbor. We were shocked because he said his neighbor isn't a member but lives in Abundancia. We went to his house and put him on a date to be baptized. The very next day, we visited another member, and some lady we didn't recognize was in the lesso...
