Jaguars, Stabbing Kids, Stupid Judge, And More Baptismal Dates

What's up, everyone! I hope you're all doing super well. This past week was absolutely nuts. It's hot as heck, but I just absolutely love it out here.

To explain the title:

We were walking down the street the other day with a member, and we started hearing noises in the trees. The member stopped and said, "That's a jaguar, run!" So, without asking questions, we all just ran for our lives.

We were walking in the road, and we saw a group of about 30 kids around this old guy, so we went over to see what's up. Turns out the guy was using a sharpened deer antler to stab the kids' legs. He told us that it helps their muscles develop to run faster. I don't believe that, but I guess that's what they believe.

We were going to have a wedding and baptism this week, but the judge never answered us. He finally texted us 30 minutes before the wedding, saying that he didn't want to do it and to come another time, but they'll get baptized this week.

We set dates for more friends this week. The people we've been finding are super good; it's crazy. We found a pastor of another church yesterday, and we talked about the Book of Mormon, testified of it, and read a bit with him. He said that he felt really good and wants to join our church but wants to pray first. Absolutely nuts. The work is progressing like crazy out here in the Chaco.

So yeah, that's about it. I've been studying a ton about the plan of salvation and have just really been coming to know the role of Christ in it. 3 Nephi 27:13-21, verses that I've read hundreds of times on the mission, have brought a whole new perspective to my life this week.

I love you guys so much. Have a great week!
