Feliz Año Nuevo!!!! Y 6 meses!!!
Feliz año nuevo a todos!!!! I actually can't believe how fast this year has gone by. What else I can't believe is that I spent half of it as a missionary. That's right, this past Tuesday I hit my 6 months mark. The 31st I was sitting back and reflecting on this past year. I do believe that it's been the best year of my entire life. Because of my mission. It has changed my life in every sense. I have grown my testimony of my savior immensely and I believe I'm a better person than ever. The Gospel of Jesucristo has changed my life just as much as the people I'm teaching. I can't really find the words to express the way I'm feeling. Yes it's been very difficult, But I'm just eternally grateful for this opportunity that my Heavenly Father has given to me to bless the lives of the People here in Paraguay. It has been a fantastic 6 months and I can't wait to see what will happen this next year and the remaining 18 months of my mission.
But yeah this week was a little difficult because everyone was partying like crazy for new years. Literally everyone was drunk out of their minds in the streets so we spent a lot of time teaching the members. But this last Tuesday we had exchanges and I stayed in my area with an elder in his training. Let's just say I hope I get to train because I love the exchanges with the new missionaries. But yeah it was really successful and we found 15 new people to teach that day.
Our friends Sergio and Lisbeth agreed to get married so they can get baptized!! They are so excited and prepared. Satan is working very hard with them so they still haven't been able to come to church. Last Sunday her grandma almost died and this Sunday their house flooded. So we're hoping that they will be able to come this Sunday. But we have to move the date for them. The rest of our friends are all progressing well. None of them can get baptized this transfer bit I think almost all of them will get baptized this next transfer.
We've been teaching the little boy named Joshua. But he can't read and his family doesn't care enough to help him. So we're teaching you how to read. He is so excited and making rapid progress. At first he didn't even recognize the letters and now he can read basic sentences. We had an awesome lesson with his family about the family and the important role of parents and now they're all helping out. Him and his sister will be getting baptized here in a few weeks and are super excited.
But yeah that's all. Also, I ate some pretty wild food this week. But yeah. I hope you all were able to think of some goals for this new year and that you enjoyed your time with family!!
