Dear Elder Nathan Larkin,


     Thank you for accepting the calling to serve as a Trainer in the Paraguay Asuncion North Mission. This calling has been extended to you after careful consideration and prayer. It is a calling from the Lord and is one of the most important leadership responsibilities in the Mission. This Mission can only be as good as the Missionaries and the Missionaries are only as good as their Trainers. Thus, in order to have faithful and obedient Missionaries, we must have faithful, obedient Trainers.  



     You have been selected to train a Missionary to become the most obedient and hard-working missionary in the Mission. This calling requires that you set a good example at all times. You will need to teach your companion the Missionary Purpose and the guidelines found in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ as well as in Preach My Gospel.  



     As a Trainer, it is imperative that you teach correct principles to your new companion, including strict adherence to the Missionary Daily Schedule, including individual and companionship study time and planning time. If your new companion needs to learn Spanish, you should spend at least one hour per day (from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) helping him to develop language skills. Help your companion to gradually increase his participation in teaching the lessons according to his abilities.  



     Be patient and understanding with your new companion. Remember the feelings you had as a new Missionary and help your companion exercise his faith in calling upon the Lord for guidance and strength in becoming the type of Missionary that the Lord expects.  



     Thank you for your desire to serve the Lord. Thank you for accepting this call to serve in the Mission. The Lord will strengthen you and direct your efforts as you prayerfully carry out this important assignment. This is His promise to you: “I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.” (D&C 84:88)

2 Exchanges

Hello everyone! How's it going? I hope you all had a great week this week. I had a really great week. Nothing too crazy or out of the norm, just working like crazy as usual. This week I got to do 2 exchanges which was awesome. I love doing exchanges because I learn so much and I build relationships with other missionaries. We had an exchange with a companionship called Yvy ja'u which means we eat dirt in guarani. I stayed here in pjc but Saturday morning I had to leave at like 4 in the morning to go pick up my companion and then come back. That took like 8 hours in total and I was completely dead the whole day haha. So basically all of our friends that were progressing are now not progressing, and so we had to drop like 15 people at the start of this week. That was kind of discouraging but we kept working and man did the Lord bless us. We contacted a guy in the street and he told us that he had never heard of the missionaries before but his cousin is a member and he had interes...
