Maramburé

First week here in the new area is complete!! And wow is it a great area. It's a ward with like 200 active members which is great. They were all really receptive to me and excited to meet me. We've been working a ton with the members because they're just so ready to help. It is very different from Puente Kyha and it's definitely taking some getting used to. It's in the city with a lot of people around but that's great because there are more people to teach! My new comp is pretty sick. His name is elder romney and he's from arizona. He really loves to work hard and is just super loving.

 

 

This week was another week full of miracles. We've been street contacting a ton and we found a bunch of people with potential. It's kind of crazy because people will sometimes come up to us wanting to learn more. 

 

 

We also had the wedding of Reinaldo and visctoria. They got married so that Victoria could get baptized the same day. It was one of the coolest things ive ever seen. Just seeing the amount of love in their family reminded me of the importance of families in this life, and how I want to raise my kids in the gospel one day. But yeah, I literally met them the day of the baptism, so i had nothing to do with it, but it was still amazing to see.

 

 

We also put a family on date to be baptized this week! They're really excited and they really love going to church! It's really cool. We have many other people that we just found this week that could probably receive a date this following week as well.

 

 

Besides that, I had some of the best lessons of my mission so far. I really love teaching the plan of salvation, especially to families. It's really cool to see how it touches their hearts when they learn that their family can be together forever. The importance of family is probably the biggest thing that stood out to me this week. They are central to the plan that God has for us. A home based on the teachings of Jesus Christ is the best way we can overcome our challenges and come closer to christ. I've seen firsthand how the gospel changes families and peoples lives.

 

 

But yeah, another great week! I hope you all are doing amazing. I definitely envy you guys for the cold haha. But I'll see yall next week! Jojotopata!

2 Exchanges

Hello everyone! How's it going? I hope you all had a great week this week. I had a really great week. Nothing too crazy or out of the norm, just working like crazy as usual. This week I got to do 2 exchanges which was awesome. I love doing exchanges because I learn so much and I build relationships with other missionaries. We had an exchange with a companionship called Yvy ja'u which means we eat dirt in guarani. I stayed here in pjc but Saturday morning I had to leave at like 4 in the morning to go pick up my companion and then come back. That took like 8 hours in total and I was completely dead the whole day haha. So basically all of our friends that were progressing are now not progressing, and so we had to drop like 15 people at the start of this week. That was kind of discouraging but we kept working and man did the Lord bless us. We contacted a guy in the street and he told us that he had never heard of the missionaries before but his cousin is a member and he had interes...
