Paraguay!

So i lost my email list. So sorry if this is weird. But yeah I made it here to paraguay! I arrived at like one in the morning last Monday then woke up at 6:30 the next day where i went to the mission office and met president alleman and all that good stuff. Then i met my trainer and we left at 10pm to our area which was an 8 hour bus ride. We arrived at 6 am and i didn't sleep at all on the bus. So I slept about 6 hours in 2 days and then went and started working. And needless to say i was dead tired. And it was a complete shock to me. So the first day kinda sucked.

But yeah the area i'm in is MASSIVE. It covers three little farming towns called Puente Kyjhá, Katuete, y Curuguaty. Up right next to the border of brazil. And they speak three languages. They speak a really weird version of Spanish, Portuguese, and guarani. I hear all three of them everyday. But yeah our area is so big that we actually have 2 houses. One in puente and one in katuete. So I actually kinda had two first days this week. And the food here is bomb. Even though there's not much of it.

And my trainers name is elder smith. He is absolutely amazing. He's from St George too and can speak english, but refuses to do so, but i can still ask him questions so i'm improving very fast. When I first arrived, I couldn't understand a thing and I would just kinda sit there, but now I can actually understand a lot and I can participate a lot in lessons. They have a very weird accent here and are getting used to it. It's been a little hard, but I can see the lord's hand guiding us in our work and it is very cool to see.

The work is progressing great. We have a family of 6 that's very close to baptism. They're all ready but the father is having some problems, but we hope to figure it out and get them on date asap. But his first language is guarani so it's hard. Also we just barely met a man named Ramon and he's the best. He is keeping all of his comments and improving rapidly. We will probably get him on date this week which is exciting because this area hasn't had a baptism in a while.

This week I've realized the importance of families. The fact that we can be without families forever is so amazing. I've had the opportunity to teach a few times already and the pure joy that we feel is amazing. We have our families so we can have joy and progress in this life. And it is very important to progress and live the gospel on our families.

But yeah don't worry worry about me because i'm having a blast! And sorry (again) for the lack of pics. I'll see y'all next week!!
