Milagros
Haupei! (What's up in Guarani) this week was really good! And I don't have a lot of time so this will be short. Sorry. But not really.
But this week started off with us being a little bit down because of the week before. So we were talking and we decided that we needed to shift our focus more on the members. Which there aren't many here. So we worked very hard this week and visited a lot of them. Including the less actives. And we ended up finding a lot of new people to teach through this. We also had a lot of inactives come to church and a family that we've been teaching came also. It was literally a miracle.
Yesterday was my companion's first birthday out in the field. I could tell he was a bit sad to not be with his family and I felt kind of bad. So I prayed that we could just have a good, positive day. And boy did we have more than that. Church was really good, and then after we went to visit a family that the elders before had stopped teaching, but they were showing interest. When we clapped at their house. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, they didn't answer, but the people directly next door did. We said that they were missionaries and we asked if they want tk share a message. They said yes and invited us in. They said they were carholic so we talked about the restoration. The spirit was extremely strong. They said they believe us and want to continue. Very shortly after this we were on our way home when a lady who we never had spoken to texted us and said that she had just lost her job and was terribly sad. We called her and taught her how to pray. She said a prayer with us and said she just felt happy after that. So we have an appointment with her this week. One of our investigadores that had just ignored us randomly invited us to his house. Another one called us and told us he was going to come to church and bring his family. This all happened in one day. I could tell it was Heavenly Father showing his love to elder smith on his birthday. He said that it was the best birthday he's ever had and that was great. It truly was a miracle.
Our area is tough. And my mission president told me that he put me here to prepare me for other things in my mission. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to be where I am. I am learning so much even though it is hard. I feel like we are on the brink of success.
Ether 12:12. I don't have it in english so go read it. Basically it talks about how we can expect miracles if we have faith. I know this is true because I've seen it here everyday. God gives us miracles way more than we notice. And it's because we don't notice them. If we just open our eyes we can see them and feel his love for us.
Thanks everyone for your support and prayers. I love you all!!! Ciao!!
