Semana 5
Today is a big day. Today I have officially been a missionary for 1 month. And wow did it go by super fast. It feels like just yesterday was when I was set apart. I have loved every minute of being a missionary so far. I feel so close to the spirit all the time and I am just constantly happy. I only have 23 months left and if they all go by this fast then it's going to go by super fast. There is nowhere else I'd rather be right now. I do really miss the food at home right now though haha. The food here is good, but it's nothing compared to the smoked tri tip my Dad makes though.
I've seen a massive jump in my Spanish this last week. Yesterday, we did another only Spanish day, and honestly it was pretty easy. There is a ton I don't know how to say but I was able to find other ways to say it most of the time. I've also completely abandoned my English scriptures and preach my gospel. I can understand everything my teachers say now and what they say in the devotionals. I can also understand much better what the natives are saying now. The only problem is speaking. It's improving everyday though.
I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to serve the Lord. I get to wake up in the morning and everything that I do throughout the day points towards one purpose: Invitar a las personas a venir a Cristo. I am falling in love with the work. I truly am and I'm not even in the field yet. Yesterday we sang high on the mountain top with all the 1,000 or so missionaries here at the CCM. It was absolutely powerful. This song is about when Brigham Young arrived in Salt Lake and they hiked up to the top of the ensign hill and raised a banner signifying that the gathering of Israel had started. I am ever so humbled to be at the front lines of this great work. I know that there are people waiting to hear from me in Paraguay and I cannot wait to bring them the joy of the gospel.
3 Nephi 18:20
And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you.
My testimony of prayer has significantly increased this last week. I truly know that what this scripture says is true. If you truly desire an answer, Heavenly Father will answer you . Heavenly Father loves us and wants to hear from us. Many of my prayers have been answered as I have prayed with all my heart since I've been set apart as a missionary. This week a family member of someone in our district had a medical emergency. As a district, we united in prayer and like literally the next day it was reported that they were doing much better. What a tender experience.
Nothing really happened this week besides what I've put in here. Everyday is pretty much the same thing. Sorry for the lack of pictures. This week was extremely busy. I promise I will try to do better this week. Also, I know you all are probably used to Monday P days, but my P day is on Wednesday so If you want to email me, please try to do it on Tuesday so I can see it. After next week, it will be on Monday though because I'll be in Paraguay.
¡Mucho amor de México!
